About Slaughter Community Charter School
Welcome to the Slaughter Community Charter School (SCCS) website. I am pleased that you want to learn more about our school. On behalf of the SCCS family and community, it is truly my pleasure to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to you. Slaughter Community Charter currently serves students in grades 7 – 12.
We are located in the Slaughter community and proudly serve as the community’s high school. Our faculty challenges students to reach their potential and achieve their personal best. We are deeply committed to preparing students to become self-directed, life-long learners.
The team effort of staff, parents, students, community, and school board has created an exceptional learning environment for all students. We continue to evaluate our programs, make improvements, and to strive for excellence in all that we do.

A group of citizens and community leaders pursued approval of a charter school for the Slaughter School District. At the time, the only educational offering was through Slaughter Elementary School. Middle and high school classes were offered in the northern part of East Feliciana Parish and did not, at the time, provide college preparatory classes. MORE...
