Letter to SCCS Students & Parents

February 12, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Priority Enrollment at Slaughter Community Charter School for the 2019 - 2020 school year will be held from March 1, 2019 – March 29, 2019.  It is essential that you return your Intent to Attend form and appropriate proofs of residence (new students only) during the Open Enrollment period to secure your child’s spot next year.   Intent to Attend forms can be found in the school office and may be printed from SCCS’s website.

Priority enrollment for incoming seventh graders is given to residents of the Slaughter attendance zone, as set by the EFP school board, and siblings of current students.  Intent to enroll forms AND proof of residence (only required if no siblings attend) must be turned in by March 29th.  A checklist is attached showing accepted proofs of residence.  Should SCCS receive more 7th grade applicants than available seats by the March 29th deadline, a lottery will be conducted to fill the available seats and create a wait list.    Open enrollment for ALL students in East Feliciana parish regardless of attendance zone will open on April 3rd.  If you have not provided the school an intent to enroll form by the deadline, your application will NOT be considered priority, and will be placed in this group on a first come, first served basis.

Priority enrollment for incoming 8th-12th graders is broken into two tiers.  Current students are given until March 15th to return their intent forms to reserve their space for next year.  Beginning March 16th, residents of the SES attendance zone will be able to turn in intent forms and will be enrolled in any available seats, or waitlisted, on a first come, first served basis.  Beginning April 3rd, priority enrollment will end and any resident of East Feliciana can turn in intent forms.

Remember, current students are NOT automatically enrolled.  Please return your intent forms to the SCCS office as soon as possible.

Slaughter Community Charter School is a free, public charter school and does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, national origin, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, special needs, English language proficiency, athletic ability, or academic achievement.
