Mr. Mitch Axom
Mr. Axsom is currently teaching four dual enrollment courses through Southeastern University, College Algebra, Statistics, Trigonometry, and Calculus. He has been married to his best friend for 42 years, has 3 children and 12 grandchildren. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Physical Science Education. He then taught Chemistry for two years in Norman, OK before moving to Louisiana where he has taught for 23 years at Silliman (1), Zachary H.S. (2), a Christian Academy (10), Clinton H.S. (5), and SCCS (5, now in his sixth year). As I child he always wanted to be a teacher and now lives his dream.
Mr. Axsom's philosopy of education is that if students are taught clearly according to their learning styles, they will be able to reach their potential and learn to love to learn. Each student is a precious gift and must be treated with gentleness, kind firmness, love, and guided direction. He is willing to discuss with any parent their child's progress at the parent's convenience after school hours.
