Mrs. April Peterson
Counselor
April Peterson is the SCCS School Counselor. Mrs. Peterson has worked in East Feliciana Parish Schools for over 20 years. She graduated from Clinton High School and earned her Bachelor and Master Degrees from LSU. Mrs. Peterson lives in Ethel with her husband and their two sons, Andrew and William.
Ms. Peggy Reno
Assistant Principal of Curriculum & Instruction
Mrs. Reno currently is the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction at SCCS. This is her ninth year at SCCS. She has taught for a total of twenty years in East Feliciana, East Baton Rouge, and the Zachary Community School District. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Southern University and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in reading from Southeastern University. She holds a state of Louisiana certification in Elementary Education (grades 1-8) and as a Reading Specialist. It is her pleasure to serve our learning community and contribute to a successful school year in every way she can.

Mr. Mitch Axsom
Math Teacher
Mr. Axsom is currently teaching four dual enrollment courses through Southeastern University, College Algebra, Statistics, Trigonometry, and Calculus. He has been married to his best friend for 42 years, has 3 children and 12 grandchildren. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Physical Science Education. He then taught Chemistry for two years in Norman, OK before moving to Louisiana where he has taught for 23 years at Silliman (1), Zachary H.S. (2), a Christian Academy (10), Clinton H.S. (5), and SCCS (5, now in his sixth year). As I child he always wanted to be a teacher and now lives his dream. MORE . . .
Mr. Daniel Baker
Science Teacher
Mr. Baker teaches Chemistry and Physics. This is his sixth year teaching at SCCS and his 11th year overall which included one year at Clinton High School and three years at East Feliciana High School. Mr. Baker earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Masters of Natural Science at LSU in Baton Rouge, and is currently working on Masters of Physics Education at Western Governors University. He graduated from Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida in 1989. He has one dog, Bo, and enjoys traveling along the west coast during the summer.
Mrs. Heather Bankston
Elective Teacher
Mrs. Bankston currently teaches 10th grade Art and 11th grade Speech. She is a 1997 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University. This is her 19th year in education. She has taught everything from 2nd grade to middle/high school English. She spent several years teaching in East Feliciana Parish public schools, Silliman Institute, and in the Zachary Community School District (as a special education aide).
Mrs. Bankston has been married for 21 years and has two daughters, ages 18 and 20, who both attend LSU. She enjoys traveling, watching movies, playing with her bassett hounds, hunting and visiting with friends and family.
Mrs. Elizabeth Box
Math Teacher
Mrs. Box currently teaches 10th grade Geometry and 11th grade Algebra II. The 2019-2020 school year will be her 8th year at SCCS. She has taught for over thirty years; nine years in Mississippi, thirteen years at Jackson High School, and two years at East Feliciana High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education degrees in Mathematics and Secondary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. She and her husband have been married for 22 years and live in Ethel. They have two children, both graduates of SCCS, who attend Mississippi State University.
Mr. Michael Cataldie
Science Teacher
Mr. Cataldie currently teaches 9th grade Environmental Science, and 11th grade ACT prep. He attended Nicholls State University where he received his Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies with minors in business administration, psychology, and sociology.
Mrs. Amy Delee
English Language Arts Teacher
Mrs. DeLee currently teaches 8th grade math and Louisiana History. This is her first year at SCCS and her 5th year teaching. Mrs. DeLee received her Masters of Arts degree from Southeastern Louisiana University. Her roots run deep in East Feliciana Parish and comes from a long line of educators. Her passions are in her family, teaching, creativity, and football.
Ms. Robbye Duke
Virtual Learning Facilitator
Ms. Duke currently serves as the virtual learning facilitator. She received her undergraduate degree in Secondary Education from LSU and a BA in Music Performance from Southern University. She also has a certification in English as a Second Language.
Ms. Lynette Dutsch
English Language Arts Teacher
Ms. Dutsch is a 2009 graduate of Louisiana State University. In 2012 she earned her Master's of Art in Teaching from Louisiana College.She is certified in English and History as well as both Vocal and Instrumental Music. She spent 8 years as the Director of Music at Livonia High School.
Ms. Dutsch is very happy to be joining the family here at SCCS.
Mrs. LaShae Fletcher
Social Studies Teacher
Mrs. Fletcher is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and has been teaching for 15 years. She is certified to teach 6th - 12th grade social studies and is passionate about teaching students the history of our state and nation. Mrs. Fletcher currently teaches 7th grade American History and 8th grade Louisiana History.
Mr. Benton Foster
Math Teacher
Mr. Foster has taught for seventeen years. He has held the positions of district GEE remediation teacher in East Feliciana, middle school math department head in Metlakatla, Alaska, math teacher at Mohican Education Center in East Baton Rouge, and computer/science teacher in Zachary, LA. He is certified in social studies, English, biology, general science, and mathematics for grades 6-12. He is married to Missy Foster, who is also a teacher. They have six children.
Mrs. Melissa Foster
Science Teacher
Mrs.Missy Foster is a 1996 graduate of LSU, but has been a teacher her whole life.The first two years of her professional career were spent teaching fourth grade in EBR. Mrs.Foster's teaching career changed when she accepted a 6th grade position at St Alphonsus (prior to having twin boys.) She returned in 2001 to the public middle school setting, primarily working with alternative school students. Mrs. Foster has been married to Mr. Benton Foster for the past ten years. She has 18 year old twins and a another 17 year old son, in addition to three stepchildren.
Mr. Benjamin Garcia
Spanish Teacher
Mr. Garcia was born in El Salvador. His native language is Spanish. He graduated from IEES in El Salvador as a teacher for middle and high school and received a Master’s Degree in Microsoft Office.
He was part of the Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program which is sponsored by the Department of State of the United States of America. Mr. Garcia has studied at George Mason University, Fair Fax, VA, and received different diplomas in teaching techniques, technology, and leadership in education
Mr. Jacob Goudeau
Physical Education Teacher / Athletic Director
Coach Goudeau is a physical education teacher and the Athletic Director at SCCS. He also coaches baseball and assists the football team. Coach has a passion for sports and working with young adults. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia where he met his wife, Dr. Goudeau. They reside in East Feliciana with their three children.
Ms. Glenis Kent
Social Studies Teacher
Ms. Kent has a bachelor’s degree in international political science from LSU and a Louisiana teaching certification in the areas of secondary social studies and French. Ms. Kent has taught middle school social studies (American history and Louisiana history), high school world geography, Advance Placement Human Geography, French, Spanish, high school ELA remediation, and middle school physical education.
Coach William Myers
Exceptional Student Services
Coach Myers is the Exceptional Student Services teacher, head football coach, head track coach, and the Athletic Director. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1986 with a bachelor's degree and took additional courses from Southern University in New Orleans, University of News, and Holy Cross College all for a dual certification in Exceptional Students Learning and Health and Physical Education. Coach Myers taught and coached at Belle Chasse High School for 6 years, and after Hurricane Katrina moved to Zachary where he was PE teacher and coach for 15 years. he is proud to join the family here at SCCS.
Mr. Eric Turgeau
Science Teacher
Born and raised in Louisiana, Mr. Turgeau currently teaches 9th Grade Environmental Science and Biology II AP. He has been a teacher for five years. After graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University, with a Bachelor’s in Life Science, he was employed in Livingston Parish as a Science/Robotics instructor where he learned to incorporate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) into his curriculum. In 2014 he was approached by LSU’s Engineering Outreach/Recruitment Department to participate in the REHAMS and XCITE Summer Camps, which give high school students interested in engineering, a chance to explore, design, build, and test an array of college and engineering preparatory activities. He is dedicated to using his content knowledge and pedagogical skills to teaching students the necessary skill sets needed to be contenders in the modern career market.
Mrs. Terri Voss
English Language Arts Teacher
Mrs. Voss teaches 7th grade Keyboarding and 8th grade ELA. Since earning her BS in Education from LSU in 1996, she has taught middle school ELA at Northwestern, Istrouma, Staring, and Broadmoor. In addition to her degree, Mrs. Voss is a National Board Certified Teacher. This is her fourth year at SCCS. She is married to Mr. Voss, who teaches, also. They have two children.
Mr. Michael Williams
Physical Education Teacher
Mr. Williams currently serves as our paraprofessional. This will be his first year at SCCS. Mr. Williams taught Anatomy, Chemistry, and Physical Science in 2016-17 at San Tan Foothills High School located in San Tan Valley, Arizona. He attended South Carolina State University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and Communications. Mr. Williams also serves as the Defensive Coordinator for our football team
